Dr. Ling-Fang Lin works on condensed matter physics and theoretical quantum materials. Her research interests include strongly correlated electronic materials, high-temperature superconductivity, magnetism, multiferroicity, first-principles calculations, and many-body numerical simulations.
The group aims to combine interpretable physical mechanisms, advanced computational methods, and AI/ML-driven materials discovery to explore electronic structures, magnetoelectric coupling, and unconventional superconducting mechanisms in quantum materials.
Science communication and the QuantumCats channel
Dr. Lin is also active in science communication.
She runs the YouTube science-animation channel QuantumCats, which introduces physics, the universe, and quantum science to children, teenagers, and general audiences through original AI-assisted animated short videos in a warm and engaging style.
